ARTIST BIO
Kerry Mullen is a multi-media artist living and working in Gloucester, Massachusetts. She is greatly influenced by her natural surroundings particularly the rocky coast, glacial formations, granite quarries, ocean, and extraordinary light which play upon all of these from season to season. Kerry’s clay work appears to have been formed from the ground itself with beautiful earth tones and a refined sensibility. Her painting and mixed media work are full of brilliant color and express joyful exuberance. Together with her wife, Deb Hardy, Kerry founded, Creative Living Cape Ann, a YouTube channel featuring land and seascape art and music videos highlighting their own unique creations.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work can primarily be described as expressions of spirit and transcendence; an honoring of the mystery and gift of life.

I love the art and architecture of many diverse cultures across the globe including the relief carvings and sculptures of the Aztec civilization in Mexico; the pre-Christian and Christian Celtic carvings of Ireland; the monasteries and temples of Thailand and Southeast Asia and the mosques and temples from India to Iran. My inspiration also comes from contemporary artists such as environmental sculptor and installation artist Andy Goldsworthy and poet Mary Oliver.
